I was 2 years old. My mum got hit by a motorbike and spent 3 months in a coma. In that time, Elvis Presley and Marc Bolan left the planet.

Crying in the chapel, SURELY
My recollection as a child was that Elvis had had a bit of a revival with Moody Blue but for years had been regarded as a joke only liked by your Dad & other old blokes with greasy hair

We were the KNACKERS of Europe.. And that's on the Labour Party.. dictated to by the likes of Brillo pad and his ilk Maggie sorted em out and did what was necessary for the greater good.. The miners didn't want to reform.. an industry on its arse with so much power and influence?.. NAH.. Maggie did the right thing.. and we should all be thankful she came along and busted balls.

Lily 11.53 Yep.. Pretty much the same memory of this year... good times?.. strange thing.. the Country was the 'sick man of Europe'.. The unions had a stranglehold over most civil service occupations.. Strikes galore and power cuts.. but as a kid the summer was great.
Hated the Labour Party/scargills of this world ever since.. Its them that let down their there own big time.

Silver jubilee street parties, where everyone seemed to be involved. I must still have my coin somewhere at my mum’s.
My brother and I went to Amsterdam for the whole school summer holiday to stay with our aunt.
Star Wars.
Great year, apart from Elvis popping his clogs on the bog.
